Immigration Attorney calls for other options
for Visas |

The US-based Immigration Attorney, Thomas
Joy today called upon the consultant companies dealing
with the visa services to look for other options as
H-1B (professionals and speciality occupations) quota
had been completed for the year.
Participating in the interactive sessions in Hyderabad
on US Immigration, Joy said the H-1B visas which opened
in 1st April this year were all over by 26th May.
The people could not go to US on H-1B visas till October
2007.
He said the present cap on H-1B was 65,000 all over
the World to United States and there was no proposal
from the US Government to increase the cap.
He cleared the doubts of the participants on various
problems in securing the visas and changing from one
category to other and the formalities required for
the changes. The visas could get on L-1 (Intra-company
tranferes), L-1 (Blanket programme) and B-1 (Business
visitors).
He said to be eligible for a B-1 visa, an applicant
must prove to the satisfaction of the US consultate
official the purpose of the trip and the financial
resources of the individual.

Parks of India and the Hyderabad Software Exporters
Association conducted the interaction sessions on
US Immigration.
VisaPro Immigration Services Founder Venkat Ramineni
said the session was part of nation-wide series of
seminars and workshops being organised in the country.
